Purpose of Study
The French curriculum at St Andrew’s follows the Learn French with Luc et Sophie scheme of work.
At St. Andrew’s we believe learning a foreign language is an essential part of being a member of a multi-cultural society and provides children to experience an insight to other cultures. We intend that all children develop positive attitudes towards other languages and cultures and that the high quality language education we provide will help children develop their understanding of the world.
Children should develop an interest in learning other languages in a way that is enjoyable and stimulating which builds confidence and promote skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
At Our School:
The St. Andrew’s linguist is an enthusiastic learner of languages, who has a natural curiosity and confidence to explore, other countries, cultures and languages, understanding the importance of being able to effectively communicate with others in another language.
Curriculum Rationale
Children can:
